Some History About FME Workshop
The business started off as, Estorf Engineering, in January 1997, when the owner, Friedel Kohne, was given the opportunity on a cane farm, to start his workshop. Friedel Kohne completed his apprenticeship with Bell Equipment in 1996, & is a qualified Earth Moving Mechanic. It all started off small, as it was himself & one assistant, & most work was done on Bell machines. As the business grew, all types of agricultural machines & implements were brought for repairs. Complete rebuilding of machines, implements & trailers became a great demand, & that was when the sandblasting also became a need. Furthermore, the fitting & turning side became a necessity, & therefore today we have all the machines which we require to perform the work.
In 2011 the business moved to a property just outside of Wartburg. Nowadays, we are also a registered trailer manufacturer & body builder. We have built many tractor drawn & truck fire-fighting units, as well as single & double axle trailers for cars & vans.
Since March 2016 we are now trading as, FME Workshop. The rest of the details all stayed the same, except for our trading name.
